DeVoe was taken to Columbia University Medical Center, where he and his parents David and Laura DeVoe spent most of the last month. The superintendent of DeVoe’s apartment building in Queens, NY told the Daily News that his condition had been improving until very recently.
DeVoe’s parent’s released this statement to The Huffington Post yesterday:

From a very young age he showed his interest and aptitude for adventurous sports — snow boarding, trick bicycling and most recently surf boarding. He will be missed greatly by his parents, extended family and his many friends.
DeVoe’s career took him from all-American Abercrombie and Fitch and Anne Klein to the edginess of Vogue Nippon and V Magazine. He was 28 years old.
