For Pre-Fall, Vera Wang was thinking back to school — in a manner of speaking. The designer, who went to Chapin, recalls having to wear a mint green shirt and a dark green skirt of indeterminate fabric content and flat shoes. This look has the colors and the components of a typical school uniform — the gray skirt, the “knee socks,” the crest — but all grown up. “My fantasy school uniform,” Wang says.
