Taylor Momsen’s Galliano Ad Isn’t Very Convincing WATCH

Images of Taylor Momsen’s ad campaign for John Galliano’s Parlez-moi d’Amour fragrance have been trickling through the blogosphere over the last few days, but the Ellen von Unwerth directed pièce de résistance is finally here! If you’ve ever wondered how to sell expensive perfume to a really niche audience of Gossip Girl-obsessed, Courtney Love-hating, rock-loving, tortured pre-teens, well, now you know.
The minute and a half long clip is set to a surprisingly soft (and surprisingly listenable!) song by Momsen, called “You.” In the clip, Momsen writes on a tea-stained scroll with a red feather quill pen (which she also uses to seductively stroke her thigh), rolls around on a chaise longue and eventually tears the aforementioned scroll to pieces with her mouth.
We’ve been skeptical about Galliano’s decision to use Momsen for the campaign from the beginning and we’re not sure von Unwerth’s video makes much of a case. What say you?
