The color-configurable interior ambient lighting system lets the driver or front seat passenger change the color of light in the front and rear footwells and in the front and rear center console cupholders. Choose from a palette of seven colors (Red, Blue, Purple, Green, Aqua, White and Yellow) to change your mood. Ambient lighting is optional in Focus SE; standard in Focus SES and SEL.

Seat cushions in the 2009 Focus use a bio-based polyurethane foam derived from the oils of various plant seeds. The color of the upholstery is either Medium Stone or Charcoal Black, but the color of what lies beneath is eco-friendly Green.

The 2.0L Duratec 20 I-4 is engineered with dual overhead cams activating four valves per cylinder. For all its responsiveness, the Duratec 20 can go a long way with its EPA-estimated 35 Hwy rating.* There's also the Duratec 20E offered in states that adopt California emissions standards, qualifying Focus as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV). With both Duratec 2.0L versions, a 5-speed manual transmission is standard, with a 4-speed automatic available as an option.
