Last night, John Galliano and a gaggle of his muses celebrated the reopening of Dior’s flagship store at 57th Street in New York City but also the appointment of Natalie Portman as the new face of the brand.
According to WWD, Portman’s first campaign will be for the luxury label’s Miss Dior Cherie fragrance for which past ambassadors include Elvis‘ granddaughter Riley Keough and model Lily Donaldson. Of Portman, Parfums Christian Dior chief Claude Martinez said, “[She's] elegant and charismatic,” which is true, even if Portman would describe her off-duty beauty routine as “a little sloppy.”
The campaign features print ads shot by Tim Walker and a television spot by Sofia Coppola, both of which will be released in March. While Portman was certainly the star of last night’s party, Liv Tyler, Dree Hemingway, Leighton Meester, and Karlie Kloss were no shrinking violets.
