Love a well-deserved celebrity endorsement deal. WWD reported this morning that Glee’s Heather Morris, who plays Brittany S. Pierce (or Brittany Spierce, whichever), has been tapped as the next face of Flirt, a beauty brand owned by Estee Lauder. And if its past spokeswomen are any indication, Morris might turn out to be the show’s biggest star.
Superstar tennis player Serena Williams and actress Mila Kunis have been Flirt ambassadors in the past; the brand’s spokeswomen are generally young up-and-comers. And apparently it’s an easy role to slip into — for her part, Morris is already singing the public relations song beauty ambassadors are required to perform.
According to Morris, the partnership works on many levels. “Brittany is the biggest flirt on “Glee,” so there’s that — not to mention I’m obsessed with the Flirt makeup,” she said, naming a lip color named Tootsie as her favorite.
Emphasis ours. Still, we can’t say that this is a bad thing. Morris will tour the country doing in-store appearances and host a contest looking for another young and talented performer to shoot a video ad for the brand. She’ll also promote the brand’s new mascara All That Lash and its fragrance Luv-a-licious, both of which will be launched next year.
What we’re happiest about is that someone else from the show (read: someone who isn’t Lea Michele) is making extra-curricular money. Now all we need is for Amber Riley to get a Covergirl deal and set up Chord Overstreet as the face of the Shake Weight and we’ll be set.
