January Jones For Versace Spring 2011 Reminds Us of Something

Maybe it’s just me but this just-released shot of January Jones as the face of Versace’s Mario Testino-shot Spring 2011 campaign was giving off some seriously familiar vibes…

That would be her in the middle, flanked by Karolina Kurkova as the face of Valentino back in 2003.

Then again, I doubt Karolina Kurkova was the first moodily black and white, seated, naked blonde in ankle straps for a major fashion house ever.

Since so much in fashion is cyclical–if not straight up dusted off and repackaged–I’m not going to cry “plagiarism” here.

You’ve heard of a sweater dress, but have you ever heard of a sweater gown? We sure hadn’t. Until today, that is. Why? Because last night Angelina Jolie wore a Versace sweater gown to the New York premiere of The Tourist.

The floor-length ivory dress has a plunging neckline and a dangerously high thigh slit. It also has long sleeves and is made of angora. So it’s kind of a vixen/prude hybrid that is also season appropriate. Or something.
